In Memory of

Jean L. Lam

Co-founder and Honorary Chairwoman

Si-Yo Music Society Foundation is saddened to announce that one of our original founders and Honorary Chairwoman, Mrs. Jean L. Lam, passed away on February 4, 2018. She was a passionate champion of Si-Yo’s mission to inspire a global community with classical music.

Mrs. Lam and her husband Sau-Wing Lam—another of the original founders and Honorary Chairman until his passing in 1988—generously supported the next generation of musicians. Their earliest efforts to gather artists, music lovers, and instrument collectors included hosting informal concerts out of their own living room.

Mrs. Lam additionally helped establish the Sau-Wing Lam Memorial Violin Scholarship Fund, supporting Si-Yo in acquiring performance-quality stringed instruments for use by deserving artists in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.

Our thoughts go out to Mrs. Lam’s family and friends. She will be deeply missed by us all.

Make a donation to remember this extraordinary woman who was dedicated to supporting musicians and sharing the beauty of classical music.

Your donation will be fully tax-deductible. We are grateful for your support.
