"As a Si-Yo Artist™, a trustee, and a Si-Yo Arts Partner™ (through Jiang Jie Music School), I am very much honored to witness how the Foundation has supported musicians, provided meaningful experiences to audiences, and carried on the memory of its co-founders Sau-Wing Lam and Jean Lam.
"As a second-generation member of a music-based family business—Jiang Jie Music School in Beijing—I had the chance to meet Eva Lerner-Lam in 2011. We've worked together on the variety of music activities such as festivals, master classes, concerts, and music lessons.
"How did the Lams—who were not professional musicians or music industry professionals—help and sponsor Chinese musicians in China and the United States at such a difficult time? How did they make their house in Tenafly, NJ a well-known place where musicians loved to go to for chamber salons, concerts, talks, and Mr. Lam’s impressive antique strings collection? Mr. Lam so generously shared his rare, precious collection with musicians, while Mrs. Lam always provided lovely, warm meals with kindness.
"As Si-Yo Chairwoman and President, Eva Lerner-Lam honors her parents and their work. Many musicians are benefiting from the performance and teaching opportunities that the Foundation provides, and many communities are being inspired by their music. Si-Yo is simply a meaningful, special organization."
