Dear Si-Yo Artists™, Si-Yo Arts Partners™, donors, and friends:
At this time of uncertainty caused by the spread of the COVID-19 virus, I would like to assure you that our Foundation team is well versed at telecommuting, so our ability to continue our administrative support for our Artists with Purpose™ has been largely unaffected by the travel and assembly restrictions that have been recently imposed by local, regional, and national governments around the world.
However, we are also keenly aware of the significant impacts that those restrictions are having on our artists, arts partners, and audiences.
For more than half a century, Si-Yo Music has helped musicians and audiences work to overcome very difficult—sometimes unimaginable—economic, educational, and other daunting challenges. This is yet another one, and we are here for you.
History has taught us that music—which inspires and unites people of all cultures, nations, and languages—will become even more important in the next several weeks and months. We are fortunate that technologies exist today that can bring performances of beautiful music from the hearts and minds of our artists right into your living room and even onto your mobile phone.
In that spirit, please enjoy performances by some of our Si-Yo Artists™ that are on our YouTube playlist. To further address the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be shifting our attention in the coming days from presenting our artists in live, in-person performances at traditional concert halls to ways to deliver their performances in a Si-Yo Music “Virtual Concert Hall.” After the pandemic eases and life returns to normal, we would likely keep the Virtual Concert Hall in operation to supplement our presentation of live, in-person concert hall performances. As we have demonstrated many times before in our history, we will emerge from this crisis stronger than ever before.
Please stay tuned and know that we are fully committed to mobilizing our community of artists and arts partners in order to fulfill our mission to “inspire a global community with classical music.”
